Imaginative Qualities of Actual Things :: 3-logy Triennial 2008
August 22, 2008 to January 6, 2009
With the world going ‘green’ and curiosity converging on the impact of human consumption and squander, Price Tower Arts Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma is initiating a conversation through art about the environmental impact of today’s society. The exhibition entitled, Imaginative Qualities of Actual Things, will explore the new world of object reassignment, presenting creative repurposed or ‘upcycled’ objects that both stretch the imagination and suggest how to reduce the impact on the environment. From repurposed puzzle pieces on wallpaper to oversized photographs showing the massive disposal of cell phones, this exhibition makes the audience pause in a moment of awe and personal reflection. This inaugural exhibition is a part of Price Tower Arts Center’s new Triennial exhibition series, appropriately dubbed 3-logy (pronounced trilogy), which will examine international contemporary artwork produced or manufactured in the last three years.

UMAMI Festival :: Gastronomic Interactive Installations
Monday, April 14 @ 7PM and Tuesday, April 15th @ 8PM
Miwa will be creating a few new flavors for her NY Flavors Ice Cream Stand during this festival of all things food and performance. There are rumors of a possible Lower East Side (lox and bagels) ice cream creation.
Echoing the experience of a New York street
scene, we present a variety of smells, sounds, and sights,
co-existing and competing for attention. Familiar objects, from
ice cream to cookbooks, are presented in new and unexpected
ways. As street vendors offer exotic twists on common products,
screenings of artists' food films and a display of artists'
cookbooks complete the carnival atmosphere.
Tickets include admission to Experimental Cuisine Collective panel on Mon April 14th @ 4PM or to Food/Art Roundtable on Tue April 15th @ 6PM
